(Note: I used to have another blog. That blog was not meant to be a political, but more random observations. I don’t use it anymore, because I forgot the password and can’t find the access code to get a new password. What follows is something I wrote for that blog in 2011. It is still timely)
When I was in law school, I was taking a course on Wills and Estates. We were studying a case where a woman asked her attorney to make some changes to her Will. The lawyer did so and told the client, but advised she could wait until after the holiday to come and sign it. Naturally, she died before she signing and the Courts ultimately ruled the new unsigned Will was invalid.
After we finished discussing the case, the professor told us the back story as He knew the attorney involved. The lawyer was a functioning alcoholic and was about to go on a bender for the 4th of July weekebd and didn’t want to have to wait for the old lady to show up in his office to sign the new Will.
The moral, as the professor told us that day is the same one I tell you today:
DON’T CELEBRATE THE FOURTH ON THE THIRD WITH A FIFTH .
Have a happy and safe 4th of July
